In the natural world, we have observed that the skin color of chameleons, the butterfly's wings or the peacock's plumage, can change depending on the surrounding environment, or from the viewer's perspective. Talented artist Lee Jiyeon turned to nanocopying and 3D printing technology to simulate
this invisible nanostructure. And from there was born the structural color system of Rainbow Forest - they blend with nature and only appear when light reflects, scatters and diffracts.
The models are hung in the middle of a large space and are shaped a bit like dandelion flowers,
with transparent reflective membrane discs attached to the body, extending from the center to resemble the beauty of a sea urchin. When in motion, these nanodiscs will catch light from glass windows
and LED light bars on the floor along with natural sunlight, creating a beautiful work of light art.
Lee Jiyeon illustrated a kind of primordial beauty that cannot be artificially controlled or adjusted
by humans, and evoked a novel expansion of feeling for the audience.
